Getting Started

CyberGuard Device Inventory Manager keeps the inventory of every device in your company in one place: the devices managed by Microsoft Intune, with the detailed data collected by the CyberGuard agent, and everything Intune does not know, such as warranties, rental contracts, assets, assignments to employees and devices outside Intune.

Where the data comes from

Source What it brings
Microsoft Intune The list of managed devices and their configuration: user, operating system, compliance, encryption. Synchronized every day.
CyberGuard DIM agent Detailed hardware and firmware, applications, Windows updates, drivers, certificates, network, software usage. See Agents.
Your team Warranty, rental, asset data, site, tag, notes, attachments, extra devices, Inventory assets, onboarding and offboarding.
Public catalogs Known vulnerabilities (CVE) of updates, applications, drivers and BIOS. See Fleet Insights.
Network probe (optional) Switches, firewalls, printers and other network devices. See Networking.

First steps

When your organization is activated, the first person who signs in becomes the tenant administrator. The Dashboard shows a checklist of what is still missing; this is the recommended order:

  1. Deploy the agent on your Windows PCs and Macs: Agents.
  2. Configure SMTP, so that the portal can send emails from your mail server: SMTP.
  3. Activate your colleagues as they sign in, and give them the permissions they need: Users & Permissions.
  4. Define who sees which devices, if not everybody should see everything: Device Visibility (RBAC).
  5. Fill in what Intune does not know: import warranties and rental contracts, add the extra devices: Import, Extra Devices.
  6. Choose the emails you want: expiries, new users, scheduled exports: Email Notifications.
